Highways Lab is our filmmaker development initiative. We fund short films as proof of concept for features, then help finance the features that emerge. The Lab builds on more than a decade of Olga Segura-Gall’s work connecting artists with the industry, including creating the Adelante Directors Fellowship with the Sundance Institute, Netflix and Shondaland.
Through the invitation-only Highways Lab Directors Program, emerging and established filmmakers receive funding, mentorship and a platform to bring their feature visions to life. Each year, Lab filmmakers join us at the Sundance Film Festival for screenings, panels and community events.
In 2026 we launched the Highways Rise Film Fund in partnership with Rideback RISE and Adobe. It finances films from the Lab and beyond, and its first investment will be announced soon.
